Research Level: Digital Media Project

Project Name: Educating through 3D Scanning and Printing of Archaeological Artifacts

Project Description: 3D scanning and printing are quickly becoming integral tools for researchers to investigate and communicate the archaeological record. The potential forms these new technologies might take in educating classrooms are underdeveloped. We are looking for innovative ways that digital media alone or digital media in concert with tangible, 3D printed, artifacts can be deployed in specific or all classrooms to educate K-12 students about Ontario’s archaeological heritage.
